2026 Chevy Camaro Z28 Specs, Interior, Release Date – Fans of muscle cars, pay attention: the legendary Camaro Z/28 will not be produced in 2027 or any year after that. A Collector’s Edition debuts just before it permanently departs as a gas-powered two-door. Chevy claims the 2026 Camaro Z/28 limited edition is a nod to the Panther codename that was used for the first model year. 2026 Chevy Camaro Z28 Specs

Exterior and Interior
The 2026 Camaro Z/28 Collector’s Edition will include conspicuous badging on the front and back, along with subtle references to the commemorative edition on the interior. Wheels that aren’t standard on the RS, SS, and 1LE versions might round off the set.
There isn’t a ton of space inside the Camaro Z/28, and notably less than you’d find in a Mustang or Challenger. Front legroom measures 43.9 inches but rear passengers need make do with just 29.9 inches. The trunk is tight, too, at 9.1/7.3 cubic feet for the coupe/convertible. Compare that to the 2023 Challenger’s enormous 16.2-cubic-foot cargo hold.

Engine and Performance
This Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 2SS has a ton of cool tech features, like a rearview camera, heated and ventilated seats, a head-up display, a mirror that dims automatically for the driver, a mirror that shows the rearview, forward collision alert, blind spot monitoring, rear park assist, and 20-inch wheels with summer run-flat tires. You may find this vehicle listed for $49,448.
Available on middle-tier trims, the 3LT, 2SS, and ZL1 come standard with an 8.0-inch system. Every Camaro Z/28 from Chevy now has Wi-Fi hot spot capability. Upgrading to a higher model adds wireless charging, an 8.0-inch instrument cluster display, and Bose premium audio. Few changes are anticipated in 2026.
The Camaro Z/28 powertrain lineup is a little different this year. All variants still come standard with RWD and a six-speed manual, but the previous entry-level turbocharged inline four-cylinder option has been discontinued after 2023, which means base variants now get the stout six-cylinder. That engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 producing a healthy 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque, good for 0-60 mph in 5.2-5.4 seconds, according to the manufacturer. Automatic transmission examples get slightly better fuel economy, and numbers for the V-6 read 16-18/26-29 mpg city/highway. 2026 Chevy Camaro Z28 Specs
2026 Chevy Camaro Z28 Fuel Economy
you’ll be tempted by the V-8. Chevy’s 6.2-liter powerhouse delivers 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. This is a version of the same V-8 that powers the Corvette, and it’s also featured in the Silverado and Cadillac Escalade. We clocked a 2019 Camaro Z/28 with this engine hitting 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, and fuel economy is impressive considering the power output at 16/24-26 mpg.
The fastest, most powerful Camaro Z/28 is the monstrous ZL1. Chevrolet fits the ZL1 with another 6.2-liter V-8, but this one’s supercharged. Power numbers soar to 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, capable of dropping 0-60 mph times as low as 3.5 seconds. Efficiency figures are expectedly poor at 13-14/20-21 mpg.
2026 Chevy Camaro Z28 Safety Features
Across the board, it has received a “Good” grade from the IIHS and the NHTSA. The only exception to this rule is the roof strength, which is deemed “Acceptable.” If it weren’t for the low roof and narrow windows, which create multiple blind spots (including an extremely impossible over-the-shoulder check), I would have given it a better rating. Had I been the one in control, my rating would have been far higher. The good news is that blind-spot monitoring is currently the norm for aircraft.
Alternatively, you can use a camera-equipped rear-view mirror to see what’s behind you. No one or nothing in the backseat or behind the back pillars may block your view. Whatever the case may be, I have poor depth perception and find it difficult to focus on a single object at a time. Concentrating on multiple things at once is a real challenge for me. For the most part, I would simply turn it on and off like any other mirror.
2026 Chevy Camaro Z28 Price and Release Date
Eight different trim levels are available for the Camaro Z/28, with most of them offering different powerplant options. The base LS model costs around $26,000, while the automatic ZL1 costs approximately $68,000. Simply said, SS versions employ a V-8 engine, whilst LT trims use four- or six-cylinder engines.
In terms of track performance, we recommend the 1SS with the 1LE upgrade. It offers great value for the money at about $46,000. During our 2026 visit to Willow Springs, we were able to lap the track faster in the SS 1LE than a Ferrari 458 Italia, an Audi R8 V10 Plus, and a Porsche Cayman GT4. On the road, it does really well as well. 2026 Chevy Camaro Z28 Specs
